Another stage of work on coal shale

Another stage of work on coal shale! 📣
👉 The goal of this stage is to obtain aggregates from coal shale with enhanced properties comparable to natural aggregates.
✅ This phase focuses on the thermal transformation of coal shale using the semi-technical installation of the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials (ICiMB) in Kraków.
🗓️ Today, at the headquarters of the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials, together with representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Infrastructure, and companies including Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A., JSW KOKS S.A., PGE Ekoserwis S.A., ZOWER sp. z o.o., Polska Grupa Górnicza S.A., Holding KW, and Grupa CZH S.A., we had the pleasure of participating in the launch of thermal processing of coal shale originating from the JSW S.A. mine in a cement kiln.
✅ The expected result of this process is the production of aggregates with improved properties, potentially suitable for a wide range of construction applications.
ℹ️ The success of this stage represents a major opportunity for the Silesian Voivodeship, given the vast quantities of coal shale deposited in mining waste heaps. Its potential use in the construction industry marks another important step for HALDEX in managing post-mining waste and reclaiming land that can be successfully redeveloped for social and business purposes.
